The Dwelling Place Screening Procedures:

All volunteer applicants must fulfill a screening process involving several steps.

Complete volunteer application must be filled
Have 2 complete references on file
Complete a criminal history background check authorization form
* a $5 cash or money order fee is required if you are planning on working with children in order to attain necessary Child Protective Services clearance documentation
Complete a personal interview with the Resource Manager
Attend a job specific volunteer training session
Training Sessions Goals:

-The Dwelling Place will train volunteers once they are recruited.

To help them learn to assist staff members and residents.
To help them define their roles clearly and know their job description.
To motivate them to perform outstanding reliable service.
To encourage confidence and sustain the commitment to the program.
To encourage independence and creativity within program guidelines.
